The Staff Information Security Engineer is responsible for application, network, system, and data security; implements, automates, and administers the technology needed to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of company assets and infrastructure.

  • Position Type
    : This is a regular, full-time position.
  • Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $106,557 and $150,000 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.
  • Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote/hybrid in our Scottsdale, AZ or Austin, TX offices.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:
  • Research emerging threats and attack techniques which may pose a risk to the business, or which require implementation of additional defenses.
  • Protect the company from breach, data loss, and maintain regularity compliance violation by always ensuring proper encryption of user data.
  • Implement and administer security technologies and solutions and help coordinate monitoring and management of vulnerabilities and findings with our NOC and SOC.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance in project planning, task definition, estimating, reporting, documentation, and workflow.
  • Participates in the handling and resolution of security incidents as needed.
  • Define and implement best practice security patterns in cloud deployments in collaboration with the operations teams.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy and security regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, and FERPA.
  • Motivates multiple teams to achieve domain and epic goals through constant improvement.
  • Mentors a diverse set of 2 + Mid Engineers.
  • Other duties as required.

Share Your Expertise
.
Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:
  • A minimum of 6 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience creating security automation tools.
  • Experience securing cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS or Azure.
  • Proficient in analyzing the security of diverse systems and addressing security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of web/network protocols, attack techniques, and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and the OWASP standard.
  • Experience with security tools such as SIEM, cloud-based enterprise logging, vulnerability management, IDS/IPS, and EDR/XDR systems.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-managing, able to proactively identify work, handle tasks, and complete work without supervision.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)).
