The Payroll and Finance Associate is a full-time position reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources. This position’s primary duties are relating to the payroll function but will also work closely with the CFO/COO on financial analysis.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process semi-monthly payrolls, including transmission and reconciliation, for approximately 500 exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Track, analyze, prepare and input payroll data.
  • Process all payroll related items including, but not limited to, garnishments, third party sick and 403(b) contributions.
  • Prepare reports through payroll provider, currently Paycom.
  • Prepare annual payroll calendar indicating deadlines for submissions for payroll processing.
  • Contact supervisors regarding any questions and/or information needed to process payroll.
  • Verify and input data from timesheets, substitute forms, transportation, and stipends for additional responsibilities.
  • Ensure that all payments are properly documented.
  • Coordinate with HR team to ensure compliance with local, state and federal reporting standards, employment verifications, and/or payroll issues.
  • Research and resolve payroll related issues and questions.
  • Ensure W-2’s and 1095’s are completed timely each year.
  • Ensure all ACA data is accurately tracked and entered timely.
  • Participate in HR and Finance audits, providing information as requested.
  • Provide payroll information and reconciliation for Form 990.
  • Compile school data for benchmarking analytics.
  • Provide analytical support to the CFO/COO with both financial and operational matters.
  • Track employee attendance.
  • As a fiduciary for the school’s retirement plan, contribute as a member of the school’s retirement committee and participate in investment quarterly meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with a minimum of three years related work experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems, preferably Paycom.
  • Experience with computer applications including MS Office [expert in excel] and Gmail.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of school processes and procedures a plus.
