Your Role: We’re looking for motivated, innovative individuals who think big, move fast and are dedicated to creating leading edge solutions, without the constraints of a traditional insurance company. This individual is an executor and ensures success of delivered technical solutions in a specific context or team.

Your work:

  • Drive continuous software application evolution and enable greater business value.

  • Partner with leads and architects to help establish a technical vision and deliver innovative capabilities which are consistent, maintainable, and highly scalable for various commerce experiences.

  • Work within microservices architecture, domain driven design, and RESTful APIs using Java / NodeJS.

  • Work in a distributed/cloud-based environment, including Amazon Web Services & Kubernetes and related technologies.

  • Use data structures, algorithms, and architecture patterns.

  • Define solutions, provide estimates on effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility.

  • Use modern build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests.

  • Practice full DevOps to ensure a culture of testing and releasing software on Amazon Web Services continuously using automation and monitoring.

  • Leverage NoSQL using Amazon Web Services to ensure data storage is designed for security, reliability, availability, maintainability, and performance.

  • Deliver software in a Scrum of other agile development process/methodologies.

  • Perform technical code reviews and pair programming.

  • Partner with other teams to ensure the service ecosystem is loosely coupled and scalable.

  • Hands-on application development using AWS services, including but not limited to S3, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, EC2, SQS, SNS, Build Tools.

What would make us excited about you?

  • Excellent Object-oriented programming skills with Java and Python experience

  • Knowledge in Data structures and Algorithms

  • Java Script, jQuery

  • Experience in developing RESTful APIs and implementing Okta AuthN / AuthZ

  • Experience working on a team using the AGILE Scrum methodology

  • Designing and developing microservices using spring boot, Python or NodeJS

  • AWS Native Services like S3, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, EC2, SQS, SNS

  • Databases, including SQL and NoSQL

  • Monitoring tools including New Relic, Splunk

  • AWS build tools, including Jenkins & Maven

  • UML & Design Patterns

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, technology or a related field.

  • Experience: 5-8 years of overall progressive experience in software engineering.

The national average salary range for this position is $102,240-$113,600. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full [salary range] for this position across all the states we hire in is $92,070-136,400. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 10% of eligible pay.
