ASN Constructors is a joint venture of three international contractors (Acciona, Shikun & Binui and North American Construction Group) who will work with the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and other area stakeholders to build a historic project that will protect the citizens of the Fargo-Moorhead area from flood waters from the Red River. The Structural Engineer is responsible for working in multi-disciplinary environment; providing structure’s design review services as well as the analysis of potential optimizations, alternatives that could improve the constructability of the structures and solve structural issues during the construction period. The structures of the projects include several bridges 3 – 6 spans with precast girders, two aqueducts, retaining walls, as well as non-typical structures culverts and inlets.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for design and shop drawings review including specifications, calculations, and bill of quantities.
  • Inform the design manager of potential optimizations, issues and incongruences during the design and construction period.
  • Participate with the design manager in technical meetings with Designer or Subcontractors when required.
  • Provide periodic onsite construction inspections when a structural issue is detected.
  • Revision of temporary works developed by others such as erection of girders, formworks or others required prior to the construction.
  • During construction phases, provide support to the design manager to elaborate RFI's and assist with the resolution of construction issues.
  • Review of the as built information provided by the Designer to be coherent with the final solutions carried out at site.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Technical Structural Engineer with a minimum required experience of 4 years working as part of Contractors

· Extensive technical experience on bridges and retaining walls is required

· Extensive knowledge checking design, calculations, specifications and drawings

· Computer skills: high level knowledge of Microsoft Office products and CAD.

· Must have the ability to work efficiently with or no supervision

Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil. Structural specialist in bridges and retaining walls.
  • 8+ years of work experience. Minimum of 4 years working in technical department for Contractors.
