Student Clerical Assistant
Job description
2. Answering phone calls, providing general information, routing incoming calls, taking messages, responding to emails, greeting visitors, and directing customers to appropriate staff members.
3. Entering data, creating reports, organizing reports and archiving reports.
4. Providing invoices, receiving payments, writing receipts, making deposits and archiving invoices, receipts or other payment information.
5. Handling outgoing and incoming mail.
6. Performing other related duties as assigned.
2. Ability to communicate professionally and courteously in both oral and written form with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.
3. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a satisfactory work product.
4. Ability to handle money in the form of cash, checks, money orders, etc.
5. Working knowledge of Microsoft office and the ability to learn university-specific software.
6. Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports.
7. Ability to understand and follow instructions.
8. Ability to train others.
2. Valid Texas driver’s license.
3. No direct experience is required. Training and instruction will be provided.
Student assistants may not hold any other type of position at Stephen F. Austin State University such as a graduate assistantship or temporary casual employment at the same time that they are employed as a student assistant.
