Starting Pay Range -
_SUDPT Credentialed - $19.72 - $21.68
SUDP Credentialed - $221.38 – $23.49_

We are seeking a SUD Substance Usage Disorder Counselor to join our team. The successful candidate will have a SUDPT or SUDP Certification from the State of Washington and an Associates of Arts degree or higher specializing in Chemical Dependency Studies or currently working towards degree.
Summary:
Work both autonomously and collectively as an empowered team member, with minimal direct supervision. Participate in the design, implementation, and ongoing delivery of services. Provide coverage for SUD programs (individual and group sessions) if needed. Provide ASAM assessments, intakes, insurance verification, inpatient and outpatient placements as well as referral services as needed. If a SUDP, may be required to provide trainings to SUDPs, SUDPTs, and interns, including co-signing of chart notes & treatment plans and editing any correspondence of SUDPTs prior to communication. Provide assessments, intakes and case management services including (but not limited to) assisting clients in obtaining insurance, housing, primary care, identification, and support with engagement in other community supports. Staff may also provide back-up support to SUD other CRMHS clinical staff when assigned.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
· Participates in ongoing assessment of the chemical dependency, psychological, social, vocational, systemic and economic goals and needs of the substance abuse consumer in Clark County. When providing direct treatment, develop and implement a multidisciplinary treatment plan in collaboration with the patient and others, at the patient’s request.
· Coordinates all inpatient treatment placement including individuals return from IIP to OP treatment.
· Coordinates all outgoing courtesy dosing requests.
· Works with all funding sources and insures all necessary documentation is complete and submitted for successful placement into treatment services.
· Responsible for pre-auths and ongoing authorizations from private and state insurers.
· Provide staff trainings in support of clinical supervisors.
· Coordination of jail based OTP services including implementation of client services.
· Schedules transportation services to individuals going to and returning from inpatient treatment.
· Provides clinical interventions and/or referrals to other providers in order to assist patient in meeting treatment and level of care needs. Clinical interventions may include: individual, family or group modalities, counseling, case management, system coordination, patient advocacy, referral, and crisis management.
· Ensures that treatment planning and interventions are effective, appropriate, timely, patient centered, culturally competent and age appropriate. Provides substance abuse and co-occurring disorders treatment with respect for patient confidentiality, safety and self-determination.
· Maintains the safety, security, and confidentiality of patients and their families. Follows all federal and agency regulations for confidentiality, including 42 CFR, Part 2 and HIPAA.
· Utilizes community and natural supports to supplement services, with the intent of helping the patient to become integrated into their community and to graduate from services when clinically indicated.
· Maintains a working knowledge of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders treatment and rehabilitation, public/private community resources, services, benefits, public income maintenance programs, federal and state laws, as well as agency policies and procedures.
· Respectfully collaborates with co-workers and personnel from other agencies
· Completes all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner per agency policies and procedures. Participates in the implementation of agency tracking systems and chart audit procedures in conjunction with the approved clinical supervisor. Maintains chart to the WAC standard, and reviews charts as needed for client review. Provides wrap around services with community partners when an ROI is in place.
· Ensures own professional development. Maintains licensure and/or certification requirements.
· Contributes to the overall professional development and functioning of the agency as a training institution.

Education, Licensing and Experience:
· High School diploma or GED
· Working towards a degree in the behavioral health field. Must have SUDP/T certification from Washington State Department of Health.
- Have completed forty hours of continuing education during each two calendar year period beginning in January of the year following initial qualification as a counselor in subject areas that increase knowledge and skills in counseling and aiding chemically dependent persons and their families in recovery, and increase knowledge of special populations and their issues.

· Ability to determine an appropriate treatment plan for each patient, and to train staff to this level.
· Competency in: clinical treatments of substance use and addictions, co-occurring disorders, individual crisis intervention; professional ethics, and patients’ rights.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and organize work to satisfactory completion.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Computer proficiency (Word, Excel).
· Must have access to a car, have a valid driver’s license and current auto registration
