The Howard Hughes Corporation offers a 9-week Summer Associate Program that provides a purpose-filled curriculum within Real Estate Development, Investments and Capital Markets, Design and Construction, ESG, Accounting, Marketing, Property Management, Corporate Communications as well as Culture + People. The summer program hosts 15 Summer Associates, both undergraduate and graduate students, from around the country to work alongside senior executives and managers on active transactions and projects within residential, office and master planned communities. We welcome those who want to join a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and team-oriented environment where there is a steadfast commitment to the communities we build and our employees.

Our Summer Associate Program will provide housing and competitive wages for top talent. The program includes special projects for the CEO and President, as well as opportunities in financial modeling training, professional networking, learning sessions as well as team-building activities. Throughout the summer, the Summer Associates have an interactive experience with all the leaders and teams throughout the company. At the conclusion of the program, the Summer Associate Class present their analysis and make real-time recommendations to HHC leadership and department managers to help drive and grow the business.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work on assigned projects within Real Estate Development.

  • Interact and build relationships with senior leadership and department teams.

  • Conduct historical and prospective trend and market analysis.

  • Conduct special projects within new and operating markets and assets.

  • Participate in program activities including executive speaker series, site tours, lunch and learns, manager check-ins, networking events and final presentations.

  • Assist in the due diligence process.

  • Development positions will involve project management duties and financial analysis on development and operating assets. Candidates will assist the development and construction team on projects in all phases including: pre-development, development, design, construction and warranty/turnover to management. Candidates will take part in project meetings while coordinating with project design consultants and contractors.

  • Some travel may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in one of the following areas: architecture, finance/economics, construction management, engineering.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.

  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.

  • Ability to Interact with Internal and external clients professionally.

  • Solid PowerPoint skills

  • Proactive thinker with creative problem-solving approach.

  • Ability to work well with others, from peer to senior leadership.

  • Successful candidates must be fully vaccinated by the start of the program.

The Summer Associate Program is structured to accommodate in-person participants only. The program will be based at the corporate office in The Woodlands, TX.
