Supervisory Physician (Family Practice)/Physician (Family Practice) Eielson AFB

Eielson AFB is located 26 miles southeast of Fairbanks in the interior of Alaska, and about 110 miles south of the Arctic Circle. The total population for the Fairbanks North Star Borough, which includes all the communities within the Borough (including Fort Wainwright and Eielson AFB) reached 97,159 for the 2021 calendar year. The city of North Pole, where the spirit of Christmas lives year round, is located just 8 miles from Eielson. North Pole is a friendly community with a basic selection of services, such as grocery, dining, community service organizations, parks, churches and events throughout the year. Responsibilities:
MAJOR DUTIES:
Examine, diagnose, prevent and treat medical, surgical, obstetric, gynecological, and orthopedic care patients.

Provide first contact, continuous, comprehensive primary care for infants, children, youth, and adults.

Complete required records pertaining to all medical services provided in accordance with specified procedures and regulations.

Teach and provide consultation to other health care providers as assigned.

Supervisory positions will lead a multi-disciplinary team of individuals who collectively take responsibility for the ongoing care of patients.

Supervisory positions will interview candidates for subordinate positions; recommend hiring, promotion, or reassignments.

Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
US Citizenship required

Board Certified/Eligible

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicants graduation. [A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).

Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
