The Director of Supply Chain Management directs the company’s overall supply chain operations, including purchasing, inventory of materials, vendor selection and surveillance, logistics, and production planning and scheduling. They effectively negotiate supplier agreements to balance the company’s budgetary requirements while maintaining stability in the supply base. As a key member of the leadership team, plan and execute initiatives in support of company goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and implement comprehensive strategies for all aspects of the company’s global supply chain to reduce costs, mitigate risk, improve quality, shorten lead times, and reduce inventories
  • Evaluates SCM processes to create efficiencies and maximize productivity. Manages raw and finished goods inventory to optimize the quantity of materials on-hand is appropriate for demand.
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring processes, such as inventory flow, order fill time and delivery status; Provides updates to management and other internal customers.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the procurement function.
  • Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.
  • Oversees all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.
  • Co-manage the company’s ERP system to effectively forecast, predict material supply against forecasted demand.
  • Negotiates contracts, service agreements and blanket purchase orders with suppliers.
  • Assures effective supplier surveillance in compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA standards.
  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports.
  • Maintains a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service. Develop PPV metrics.
  • Continually evaluate logistic partner performance to assure highest levels of delivery performance and cost effectiveness are maintained.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Business or Systems major preferred
  • 5 - 10 years supply chain management experience
  • 5 years experience negotiating supplier agreements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Excellent financial and inventory analysis skills

Computer Skills

  • Possess knowledge and use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Specific knowledge of MS Dynamics GP Manufacturing software or Great Plains, a plus.
  • Possess knowledge of inventory and procurement software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
