Job Title: Supply Chain Execution Manager
Position Description: The Supply Chain Execution Manager manages all aspects of contract execution for logistics, purchasing, and freight in the US, Canada, and occasionally South America for a medium-sized and fast-growing trading company handling over 3.5 million metric tonnes per year of soft commodities.
MANDATORY MUST HAVES:
- Direct experience in grain execution
- Broad experience in Supply Chain management and logistics
- Able to commute daily to Houston Downtown office
- Experience in rail, truck, barge and or container freight
- Strong knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel
Major Areas of Responsibility
The Manager guides and manages the team that works all aspects of outbound and internal logistics and execution in the US, Canada, the Caribbean, and occasionally South America, for approximately 2 million + MT of bulk commodities moved in rail, container, truck, vessel, and barge, including storage at multiple sites. This is a “hands-on” manager position that not only runs the team, but also includes transactional and analytical duties as needed. Overall responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Developing, implementing and managing US team’s Execution functions
· Developing and implementing standard operating procedures and work processes across the Execution responsibilities in line with global direction
· Building and maintaining the systems that support the Execution functions
· Coordinating execution and logistics with head office in Europe
· Coordinating all outbound and internal cargo from/in the US, Canada, and South America for a medium-sized international trading company
· Managing and optimizing freight (rail, barge, truck and container) contracts across existing carriers
· Reviewing, approving and ensuring payment of invoices to North American suppliers and service providers
· Ensuring accuracy of accounting for all North American accounts
· Researching and analyzing freight markets affecting the business including identification of risks and opportunities
· Coordinating with the sustainability manager to ensure sustainability certifications and claims are in place before shipments need to be made
· Sharing of market data and analysis internally in a meaningful and relevant way
· Maintaining and fostering relationships with relevant service providers
Primary Objectives
· Effective management of tasks in a timely manner
· Continually lower cost, improve efficiency, and reduce risk in our supply chain
· Take initiative and ownership to ensure necessary Execution structure is in place to support growth, but maintain the small company culture
· Hire, recruit, coach and train employees within the Execution team
· Maintain knowledge of costs across entire supply chain and current finished goods trading positions to enable ability to make quick, but informed, decisions on changing cost positions within the supply chain
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
