Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a CAD Technician to join our Survey team in Nashville, TN! Candidates may work remotely for this position.
Our survey professionals provide a broad range of survey and engineering services to a variety of clients that include power, energy, DOT, city, county and private owners. One of our biggest advantages is the collective expertise of our multi-disciplined team that enables us to provide complete project engineering in-house, under one umbrella, through our civil and structural engineers, permitting specialists, surveyors, and scientists. Together, we make every effort to ensure that each project and goal will be met in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible.
- Collect, analyze, and prepare raw data into workable form for surveying project plans
- Understand and convert field data into CADD produced documents
- Produce computer-generated spreadsheets, charts, overlays and drawings including digital terrain models and surfaces
- Complete assignments in the specific time periods requested while ensuring accuracy, completeness, quality, and thoroughness of results
- Understand and follow the company’s standard CAD procedures and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout
- Assist with property and utility records research
- Perform first level QAQC tasks
- Work with numerous project teams to help in project completion
- Possibly participate in field work required in order to accomplish tasks assigned by the project surveyor
- Address assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency is increased
- High School Diploma/GED is required; Associate degree or higher is preferred, or equivalent technical experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in survey
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Prior experience with MicroStation Open Roads is a plus
- Demonstrate general computer skills and knowledge
- Experience with survey equipment and associated processing software is desirable
