What do Swim Instructors do?
- Help establish and maintain classes. Develop lesson plans, understand stroke progression & implement the Core Values into lesson plans. Evaluate swimmers on a regular basis.
- Model all four Core Values
- Attend all staff meetings and trainings.
- Organize basic cleaning of pool area before and after lesson.
- Take attendance and go over pool rules.
- Be personally committed to member retention and satisfaction through personal contact and communication with members and participants.
What we look for in a Swim Instructor...
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Background in swimming and instruction
- Willing to get certified within 90 days of hire. YMCA can provide
- Understanding of child development and lesson plans recommended
- Good people skills and communication
