Essential Functions:

• Instructs swimming lesson as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
• Develops and builds authentic, positive relationships with members, participants and parents and provides motivational support and guidance.
• Encourages member and parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
• Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers members and participants to other programs.
• Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.)
• Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
• Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
• Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.
• Trains and supervises class aides as assigned.

Job Specifications:

• Ability to maintain all necessary clearances such as, but not limited to Child Abuse, Criminal and FBI
• Ability to listen and understand for meaning, speak and write effectively

Education Requirements:

• Minimum age 16
• CPR Training will be provided OR Current Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid Certification and Oxygen Administration

Candidates must have final Criminal Clearance certificates prior to starting employment. This includes PA Criminal Certificate, NSOR Verification, PA FBI - Use Code: 1kg738 and PA Child Abuse.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.50 - $15.50 per hour
