ECU Health is a mission-driven, 1,708-bed academic health care system serving more than 1.4 million people in 29 eastern North Carolina counties. The not-for-profit system is comprised of 13,000 team members, nine hospitals and a physician group that encompasses over 1,100 academic and community providers practicing in over 180 primary and specialty clinics located in more than 130 locations.

Position Summary

In conjunction with the Chairman, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Services provides administrative direction to the operation of VMC Laboratory. Responsible for the quality programs and the adherence to all regulatory standards, including, but not limited to, CLIA, CAP and the Department of Health. Provides executive leadership and administrative direction to the laboratories within the Vidant Health System. Ensures overall standardization of processes, policy and procedures, equipment, and supplies for all sections of Clinical Laboratory. Assists in formulating the budget, monitors financial performance and identifies and implements strategies to control costs. Maintains effective physician relations and intra/inter departmental relations.

Minimum Requirements

• College Degree (4 yrs) required.
• MT (ASCP) or CLS (ASCP is required.
• Five years or more laboratory related experience in high complexity testing.
