Desktop Engineer: Main purpose of the role:The role will be part of the Global Desktop Engineering Team. It will consist in helping the team automate and implement new technologies through coding skills (Powershell) Manage the Global Desktop estate (Hardware-Software). Work on a large range of Active projects as well as providing Level 3 Desktop support within the organization. This would include diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, managing, and upgrading all systems within the Team’s remit.
Key responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the management, monitoring of the desktop environment.
- Automation of activities utilizing scripting languages such as PowerShell.
- Management of Microsoft SCCM infrastructure.
- Building reports for the purpose of Desktop estate insight for Engineering team and Management team
- Managing desktop build process and images.
- Responsible for successful deployment and upgrades of desktops.
- Application packaging and deployment.
- Ensure proper patch management processes are being followed and all desktops are patched on a regular basis.
- Management of group policy settings and distribution.
- Utilize automation and scripting to provide efficient methods of managing the desktop estate.
- Act as the escalation point for all desktop related issues.
- Handle L3 incidents and requests and document solutions
- Perform root cause analysis for issues involving the desktop environment.
- Print Server Management
- Actively work on Global Engineering projects and provide trackable progress and documentation
- Manage Change Management for Desktop estate based on Requirements and Risks
- Participation in developing corporate standards for desktop computer software and hardware and conducting reviews to ensure compliance to standards
