Teacher: Alternative Education Campus/Grades 6-12/Part-Time/Immediate Start (Volusia/Manatee)
Job description
- In-person teaching at an Alternative education campus with a neglected/delinquent student population
- Multi-year/year-round program - ASAP through 9/30/24
- $30 per hour
- Opportunity to work this current school year, summer, and/or next school year based on your availability
- Part-time schedule (11.25 hours per week)
- Volusia County:
- T/W/Th 9:30a-12:30p
- Push-in sessions for Math instruction for grades 9-12; students are at least 2 grade levels behind
- Math level is late Elementary & Middle School. Our focus is to address skill gaps that are preventing them from being successful with on-grade level skills, so advanced math skills such as Geometry and Algebra II are not needed.
- Manatee County:
- M/T/Th 9:30a-12:30p
- Push-in sessions for Reading instruction for grades 6-8; students are at least 2 grade levels behind
- Male students only

Teacher Job Duties:
- Instruct to students in multiple grade levels in a face-to-face school setting.
- Deliver designated instructional models to eligible students.
- Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
- Ensure supervision of students at all times, including escorting students safely to and from classrooms/learning stations. Climbing stairs and light lifting may be required.
- Perform data entry in a timely fashion to meet deadlines (student attendance, online pre/post testing, progress reports, parent and classroom teacher communication forms, compliance documentation).
- Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by company, local, state, and federal agencies.
- Maintain consistent communication with company supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Teacher Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- Classroom teaching and/or tutoring experience
- Willingness and ability to teach various grade levels
- Must pass the Department of Justice background check process, including a drug screen
- Teaching Certificate is preferred
- Working knowledge of MS Office and Zoom/Teams preferred
- Experience with Alternative Education environments a plus
