The Institute for Human Development (IHD), a University Center on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (IHD) is an applied research and training center for human services designed to exemplify the University’s goals of engaged scholarship and community partnerships. Its functions include interdisciplinary training, applied research, community program development and information dissemination.

Job Description


Individuals in this position will lead and supervise a team of Early Childhood Quality Specialists, who will assess programs and classrooms and coach early childhood administrators and teachers. The Team Leader will monitor and support the Quality Specialists to ensure fidelity and reliability to assessment protocols and to the Practice-Based Coaching model. They will serve on the Early Childhood Leadership Team to coordinate efforts and ensure project effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with early childhood programs, assign observational assessments, make coaching assignments, and solve problems to ensure the Project protocols are followed
  • Supervise and lead a team of early learning quality specialists using a reflective supervision model
  • Recruit, interview and make hiring recommendations for new team members
  • Implement staff orientation, support training on the Practice-Based Coaching model, monitor the team's training and certification on the assessment tools and review data
  • Analyze assessment and coaching data for Project fidelity implementation
  • Establish and maintain certification on observation instruments
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in early childhood education, business management or closely related field
  • Experience in project coordination and management
  • Proficiency with technology including Office 365, video conferencing and file storage
  • Experience coaching, mentoring and/or supervising adults
  • Experience with Practice-Based Coaching (PBC)
  • Experience using observational assessment tools in early learning settings

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Possesses expanded conceptual knowledge of educational support functions and capabilities
  • Knowledge of computer technology (MS Office 365, Zoom, web-based applications, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a leadership team to complete tasks, meet goals and manage project

Salary


Up to $68,815 annually commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.

Comments


The Team Lead will be part of a statewide project serving all regional areas across Missouri. The position can accommodate and supports a fully remote work schedule with occassional trips to Kansas City, Missouri as required.
