Job Summary:
The Technical Advisor will report to the Head of Technical Advisory, Innovation Labs. This position is a remote position however may be required to report to SHI Headquarters as required for business needs as determined by SHI management. About Us:
The Technical Advisor (TA) will be highly proficient with CyberSecurity
, providing information and guidance that will empower our field teams. The Technical Advisor will act as a conduit between the Field CTO, Research Analysts and Principal Architects to ensure integration of information from every area to maximize the company’s impact on the customer’s business. The Technical Advisor is an extension of our sales organization and will work across the Sales team by collaborating with Sales Engineers, Solution Architects and Account Executives in the development of technology use.
The Advisor’s focus will be on creating executive briefings, and developing clear concise technical collateral to be delivered to executive leadership. The role will also work with our partner VC ecosystem to help bring newer and more early stage technologies to our customers. The role will also leverage those relationships to foster VC briefings.

Responsibilities:Include but are not limited to:
- Develop an ecosystem of partners internally and externally (VC’s, BU-level Contacts at OEM’s/Software Companies, Industry Analysts, Clients), to draw perspective and establish evidence on how new technologies and architectures are being applied to operational environments
- Develop and refine the methodologies that enable the team to scale effectively with customer needs
- Create thought leadership with our customers by engaging and informing IT leadership via Workshops and Briefings
- Maintain and expand key customer relationships by providing business technical expertise and informing and educating the customer leadership team
- Establish external relationships with Venture Capital firms, emerging technology leaders, startup communities, industry experts and IT executives by performing industry research to find disruptive companies and reaching out to them
- Drive the internal message to Field CTO’s, Principal Architects, and engineering leadership to position Innovation Labs with our customers
- Partner closely with the Research & Analysis team to co-develop proactive content as well as aurate content specific to an account team or client for workshops, briefings, and general collateral
- Partner with Marketing to ensure client-facing content is presented with quality & appeal
- Spearhead the development of new technologies capabilities and drive innovation with customers
- Coach and mentor the sales organization as it relates to engagement models and positioning of Innovation Labs
- Mentor and coach to support the day to day activities of Technical Advisors within their assigned technology stack as they are added to the team
- Collaborate with Sales Leadership to identify ways to differentiate and grow in key strategic accounts
- Conduct research, prepare briefings and create workshops on the emerging changes of the Cybersecurity Landscape to educate our customers
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years’ experience in a previous role coordinating the development of reference architectures and/or operationalized implementations as an Architect or a Sr. Engineer
- 5+ years' experience in a customer-facing engineer type role explaining strategic and tactical concepts to customers
- Recent industry experience as an Architect or Advisor with deep technical background in CyberSecurity
- Understanding of CyberSecurity strategies and vertical’s
- Identity & Access Management, Application Security, Data Centric Security, Data Center Security, Cloud Security, and Threat and Vulnerability Management) and how Policies, Procedures and Standards are leveraged in Public and Private Clouds. – across all the security areas
- Experience selling, designing, and implementing solutions for Enterprise Customers
- Ability to be customer focused with a strong balance of technical and business acumen
- Excellent customer engagement skills including verbal, written, and visual communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to seamlessly deliver results
- Innovative mindset with the ability to identify new ideas and approaches to drive business value
- Ability to coach and lead the conversation within your assigned solutions stack
- Ability to break down and solve complex and/or difficult problems
- Ability to give and receive constructive criticism
- Ability to address complex designs, technical architectures and service offerings within your assigned solution stack and tailor the message to your audience
- Ability to tie together solutions, such as cloud, networking, and security
- Ability to speak about the Cybersecurity technology to all audiences withing the IT organization
- 20-25% Travel to client locations is required
