Technical Project Manager - Associate


Job Purpose

This role will be responsible for project management of a number of projects in one or more IT portfolios within the IT Global Business Services team. Projects will range in size and complexity and will focus on specific business areas or functions. Some will involve business process change and IT aspects. Projects may target productivity improvement, cost reduction, total cost of ownership reduction (through improved system architecture) and/or compliance enhancement.

You will be expected to work closely with experienced project managers supporting aspects of a complex project and/or work independently on small to medium projects with less complexity.


Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

Work with experienced Project Managers to learn and follow a standard Governance Framework, Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) and Direct Charge methodology. Ensure a consistent application of the Governance, PMLC and Direct Charge methodology for all assigned projects from initial concept, design, and execution to post project review.

Take ownership of assigned projects. Manage the preparation of detailed analysis and Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) documentation to support assigned projects. Ensure compliance with, and leverage the IT Governance process, to effectively communicate project expectations (requirements, priorities, resources, cost benefit analysis, risks, etc), progress and status to the project team & management in a timely fashion.

Become subject matter experts in the specific project processes that are the subject of improvement efforts. The goal is to enable closer partnership and involvement of IT with Business at all levels. Document business requirements and work with IT support teams to define working solutions.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 0-1 years of related experience

  • Manufacturing environment experience a plus

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with all levels within the organization

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong process oriented skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills required

  • Ability to work on strict deadlines

  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a diverse, cross-functional team as needed

  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations and adapt to change

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
