Technical Service Representative

Job purpose
The Technical Service Representative will work directly with the Corporate Technical Director to assist with various client and technical service responsibilities required to serve blast crews with metrics. This is accomplished through the utilization of high end technology to bring added value, safety, and efficiencies to our company and clientel.
Duties and responsibilities
- Obtain FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification
- Conduct drone pre-trip inspections in order to perform safe drone flights
- Provide accurate 3D profiles of rock benches in a quarrying/mining environment
- Keep accurate log of actions
- Collaberate with Technical Director, clients, and company personel
- Keep organized flow of data through computer periphials and application programs
- Prepare accurate reports
- Improve existing systems to meet industry standards
- Possess and demonstrate a solid safety culture in the field, office, and while travelling in between
- Other duties as assigned as position evolves over time
Qualifications
The minimum education required is an Engineering Degree
Qualifications include:
- Awareness of industry’s latest technology trends
- Excellent knowledge of relative application technology techniques
- Ability to think strategically and to lead
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
- Attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Must conduct themselves professionally in emails, on phone calls, and in person with clients
- Incumbent must have a clean driving record
Working conditions
This position requires the incumbent to work in a climate controlled office, in the field for on-site technical services, and some overnight travel. The office work will be completed on a computer. A laptop computer and a workspace will be provided for the incumbent.
The field work is performed in mines and quarries. When working in the field, the incumbent may be exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles. Noise levels in the field environment are moderately loud.
Physical requirements
The incumbent encounters frequent sitting or standing, use of hands and arms while operating job specific equipment, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing up and down, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
