1. Responsible for assisting the Senior Telecommunications Specialist with daily telecommunications-related tasks and duties for the Agency to ensure compliance with agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing or accrediting bodies in the course of performing job expectations;
2. Assists with troubleshooting, systems design, and new/used system installations: both analog and digital;
3. Ensures that the necessary cabling is in place, to provide a functioning Telecommunications Systems to provide a sound and stable Wide Area Network;
4. Assembles, installs, and configures all telecommunication-related equipment and hardware;
5. Ensures all fire alarms, security alarms, and elevator lines are properly working and in compliance with agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing or accrediting bodies in the course of performing job expectations;
6. Installs network and stand-alone Telecommunication software and verifies that licensed and authorized software is used;
7. Ensures compatibility of hardware and software of the overall Wide Area Network and Telecommunication network;
8. Ensures that Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) lines and Customer Service Records (CSR) are working properly and takes appropriate steps to resolve any issues, when necessary and may be asked to address and resolve any urgent technical support-related issues, as requested;
9. Provides set-up and program design for the Agency's Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) systems and programming;
10. Handles all vendor complaints and inquires as well as crisis situations in consultation with his/her supervisory chain and in compliance with Agency/Programmatic policies and procedures and treats each case with sensitivity and expedience.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Relevant Education:
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in computer or Telecommunications system related field.
Minimum: Associate's Degree in computer or Telecommunications system related field.

Relevant Experience:
Preferred: 3+ years experience in Telecommunications, 3 years experience in personal computers, Support knowledge of Telecommunications equipment.
Minimum: 2 years experience in Telecommunications, 2 years experience in personal computers, Support knowledge of Telecommunications equipment.
