The Tournament Team Sales Manager networks with youth team sports organizations throughout the state, region, and country to ensure all tournaments have the appropriate number of teams in each tournament and division within the tournament. Building relationships with youth sports tournament leaders in the industry as well as the independent organizations that participate in youth sports tournaments is of paramount importance.

NOTE: Because this position will involve routine interaction with children, all candidates must successfully obtain the following clearances PRIOR to beginning employment:

  • Ohio BCI
  • FBI Fingerprint-based criminal history clearance.

If you do not already have these, we recommend obtaining these as soon as possible to ensure your employment can begin promptly, as results may take up to 4 weeks to arrive. You must possess the “Employment” versions of each clearance and not the “Volunteer” versions.

Essential Job Functions

  • Market and book teams for large competitive youth basketball, volleyball, field hockey, and other youth sports tournaments.
  • Develop relationships with industry leading tournament organizers to book tournaments and teams for tournaments held at Spooky Nook Sports properties
  • Work with internal sports directors to build and book Spooky Nook branded tournaments
  • Market tournaments held at Spooky Nook Sports in a variety of mediums to maximize registration revenue
  • Submit proposals to leadership focused upon mergers and acquisitions of other local and reginal tournaments to be combined with Spooky Nook tournaments.
  • Coordinate tournament set-up needs with all internal departments and prepare event schedules.
  • Develops pricing models of tournaments and ensures all teams have completed payment and registration processes
  • Seeks input from tournament teams after the event to ensure tournaments continue to grow and improve
  • Check in with team and tournament contacts on tournament days to ensure operational success
  • All other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Previous experience creating large tournaments for youth basketball, volleyball, field hockey, etc. or other relative senior sales experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (i.e. business, sales, marketing, sports, etc.)
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Dependable transportation to and from work
  • Language skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication
  • Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the position with any reasonable accommodations as necessary
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Working Conditions

  • Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, standing, sitting, bending, reaching with hands and arms, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing and smelling. The team member will be frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. He or she is required to have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Must be physically capable of demonstrating skills during practice that relate to the sport.
  • Lifting requirements: The team member will be required to lift, push, pull, lower and/or move up to 10 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Noise Level: The noise level in this environment is typically moderate to loud.
  • Work schedule: The work schedule may fluctuate to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel to regional or national tournaments or industry related events on occasion
