Nightforce Optics is growing, and we are looking for a Employee Relations and Training Specialist with outstanding people skills to be a key member of our team. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about helping our company grow and thrive in its fast paced environment. This position will be responsible for leading detailed, factual, and respectful investigations involving a variety of sensitive employee relations concerns. Along with employee relations, this position is responsible for managing the full leave cycle and accommodation process for employees. This role also works closely with the HR Director on designing, developing, and implementing the learning and development strategy for Nightforce Optics including identifying training needs to develop learning solutions that are tailored to the needs of staff, managers, and specific departments.
What You'll Be Doing: Essential Job Duties
Employee Relations
- Partners with the HR Manager on employee relation matters, including advising on employee discipline, underperformance, reasonable accommodations, complex leave scenarios, and other related matters
- Conducts detailed, factual, and respectful investigations and recommends resolutions.
- Helps to maintain a positive employee relations climate by facilitating discussions or by providing consistent advice and guidance to managers and employees for problem resolution of work-related conflict.
- Reviews and provides constructive feedback on Corrective Action documentation and recommends the appropriate level of corrective action. Interprets Human Resource policies and procedures.
Learning and Development
- Manages the Paylocity Learning Management System to maintain current content and video training to provide quality instruction to staff and leadership as well as creating and upload new training
- Creates tailored training for departments as needed
- Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs through a variety of channels including surveys and focus groups
- Monitors and tracks training program costs to assure appropriate budget adherence
- Build and maintain an L&D library of resources and materials
- Assists with developing and facilitating in-person and virtual training sessions for employees and managers at all levels of the organization
Disability Services (ADA/FMLA)
- Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.)
- Manages the full leave cycle experience for employees, verifies eligibility, determines leave approval, calculates leave length, and supports the return-to-work process.
- Engages in and documents the interactive process with applicants and employees requesting accommodations due to disability/medical and religious beliefs.
What we need to see: Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience conducting investigations
- 2+ years of training experience
- Strong investigation skills and a comprehensive knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, NLRA, and FLSA
- Experience with writing and producing professional reports
- Must be passionate about learning and developing and excited to build our L&D structure from scratch
- Ability to be a creative problem solver
- Must have experience in conducting investigations
- Demonstrated ability to apply innovative fact-finding techniques
- Must be an active listener and a strong communication
