Position will be responsible for the recruitment of transfer and adult students. Duties include traveling to all community colleges in the state, and also attending transfer fairs to recruit transfer students. Responsible for implementing and managing the transfer online orientation process. Also the contact for the Adult Reconnect Program with the state of TN.

Austin Peay State University is a four-year public, doctoral-level university, with six colleges and four Chairs of Excellence. The University has an enrollment of over 9,000 students and is located in Clarksville, Tennessee, a community of an estimated 166,000 people located approximately 40 miles northwest of Nashville, TN.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct extensive travel, including evenings and weekends, to community colleges and other venues, for Transfer Fairs and private visits.
  • Disseminate information regarding admissions criteria, scholarships, financial aid, programs of study, etc. Counsel students in all areas.
  • Coordinate new transfer student registration activities at on campus events and via online registration.
  • Continuously communicate with, track progress of and follow-up with all prospective transfer students from the point of initial contact through the enrollment process via in-person visits, phone calls, letters, emails, etc.
  • Coordinate the development and updating of articulation agreements, transfer equivalences, and 2+2 agreements by liaising with on- and off-campus constituencies.
  • Maintenance of the APSU adult admission website, including Reconnect
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with individuals, departments, and organizations on-campus as well as with various constituencies off-campus, especially community college officials.
  • Provide information regarding, and serve as point of contact for all transfer scholarships. Update student records once they accept or decline scholarship offers.
  • Counsel, recruit, and enroll student who are using the TN Adult Reconnect Program
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge and understanding of admissions and University policies.
  • Administrative computer software and hardware knowledge
  • Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community, and the public
Physical Requirements
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of two (2) years related work experience.
  • Experience in a customer service environment
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • A background check will be required of the successful applicant.
