Job description
As a Translator, you will be responsible for performing high quality translations, as well as reviewing translated documents. The desired candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Translate documents English Spanish
- Provide editorial review of English Spanish translations
- Manage translation project deliverables
- Use and suggest resources updates when needed (translation memories, term bases, style guides)
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency
- Native fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish, including great command of grammar; other languages a plus
- Be able to relay the tone and style of the original language and follow style guides
- Familiarity with translation memories and terminology databases
- Mastery of financial, business and legal terminology
- Experience with computer-assisted translation software (Trados a plus)
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite
- Project management experience, including a strong ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Effective organizational and leadership ability
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, detailed oriented and committed to teamwork and collaboration
Experience and Education:
- A Bachelor's Degree or master's degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
- English Spanish Translation and editorial review 2-3 years' experience (required)
- Translation Certification (i.e. ATA) strongly preferred but not required
Candidates for this role will be required to take a written Spanish proficiency test; position is located in Elgin, IL; San Antonio, TX; Columbus, OH and Wilmington, DE only and not a remote position.
