GA Foods is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee assigned distribution sites and assist with overseeing and coordinating the handling, inventory, storage, and delivery of meals to client sites from assigned various state distribution points as assigned. The Transportation Manager will act as backup support to deliver meals to various client sites as well as train, supervise and provide support to Driver staff and management as needed. A successful Transportation Manager will be able to effectively interact with customers, has strong problem-solving skills, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of meals to clients.

The location for this position will be: 6432 Gravois Ave. St. Louis, MO 63116. This is an on-site position.

Transportation Manager Essential Functions:

• Oversee routing and efficiencies of the distribution network
• Track M&R, ensuring truck are being serviced as required
• Route Efficiency-
  • Hot Routes
  • HDM Routes
  • Continual Monitoring and Reshaping of Routes as they expand/wither
  • Ensuring all databases are kept current and up to date:
    
    • Logging truck maintenance
    • Upkeep of all route information (NAV)
    • Initialize, maintain, and archive the driver/truck databases with related information pertinent to their jobs across "the System"
      • The System= ERP, the WEX website, the GPS Insight website and ultimately- NAV
    • Assisting in the Acquisition of Rentals when our Trucks go Down
    • Accidents- Managing Estimates, Processing Deductibles, Interfacing with our Insurance Co. and Vendors, Tracking Repairs
• Training and development of driver staff
• Oversee and start-up special programs/projects as required
• Manage on-boarding, training, metric management, audits, route coverage, invoices, routing, and timecards
• Ensure food safety and other compliance/regulatory. Ensure labor productivity and other targets are met
• Mentor and train direct reports
• Monitor and manage personnel attendance, disciplinary issues, training, mentoring, performance, and vacations
• Troubleshoot Call Center and Field issues
• Maintain good customer relations
• Oversee and start-up special programs/projects
• Other duties assigned by management.

Transportation Manager Requirements:

• Min. Class D Driver's license, No DUI in last 5 yrs., 0-4 Current Pts.
• Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
• Strong Communication, Customer Service and Team Building Skills
• Strong Organizational and Planning Skills
• Routing, Prior Distribution and some Warehousing Experience
• Good Computer Skills (MS Office, Windows, Excel)
• Knowledge of DOT req.'s (State and Federal)
• Demonstrable experience in Routing and Scheduling
• Production Distr. experience preferred
