By joining our Department of Highways, District 7, Engineering Support Branch, Equipment Section as a Transportation Medium/Heavy Truck Supv in Fayette County, you’ll have the opportunity to oversee the maintenance and repair of all highway equipment assigned to District Seven .

  By joining our Department of Highways, District 7, Engineering Support Branch, Equipment Section as a Transportation Medium/Heavy Truck Supv in Fayette County, you’ll have the opportunity to oversee the maintenance and repair of all highway equipment assigned to District Seven .
Holders of the Transportation Medium/Heavy Truck Supv position will complete tasks such as:
- Oversee and provided training to the technical staff located in the Equipment Garage. This includes the Transportation Auto/Truck Technician I, II, III, and IV along with the Highway Technician III.
- Evaluated equipment for needed repairs, assign repairs, and inspecting all repairs prior to equipment being placed back into service. Assist with complex equipment repairs.
- Evaluate all damaged equipment and provide repair estimates to the Division of Equipment along with the necessary paperwork.
- Maintains the inventory of all heavy equipment assets and makes recommendations to district leadership on replacement and new equipment acquisition. Oversees the annual Physical Inventory for the district.
- Stay up-to-date on equipment repairs and techniques
- Supervisory experience
- Familiarity with various Department of Highways policies and procedures
- Training
- ASE certified Medium/Heavy Truck Tech
- Experience working on heavy and light equipment
- Prior experience as a supervisor

    Minimum Requirements 
   
   
     EDUCATION: High school graduate.
     
 
    
    
     EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have eight years in automotive/truck repair technical experience including two years of automotive/truck repair supervisory experience.
     
 
    
    
     Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
     
 
    
    
     Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Vocational or technical school training in automotive/truck repair or a related area will substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
     
 
    
    
     SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a valid driver's license prior to appointment in the classification.
