The role:
Bring your customer service skills to the Woodburn DMV as a transportation services representative. In this role, you will assist the public with obtaining a driver license, registering a vehicle and issuing license plates. In addition, you will administer knowledge, skill and vision tests to potential drivers and provide information about regulations and policies.

A day in the life:
  • Help the public register vehicles and apply for permits.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while following privacy laws.
  • Communicate clearly with customers from diverse backgrounds to accurately answer complex questions.
  • Administer, correct and explain driver license tests.
  • Perform physical examinations of vehicles and verify vehicle identification numbers.
  • Prepare daily bank deposits and count inventory.
  • Occasionally perform relief work in other DMV offices within the region.
  • May require standing for extended periods of time, working in inclement weather, working an irregular schedule and lifting up to 40 pounds.

What we need:
Two years of public contact/customer service experience which involved dealing with the public in person or by phone providing information about services/programs or explaining and/or applying rules, regulations and procedures;

AND

Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data;

AND

Three months experience collecting money and making change.
Completion of an associate’s degree will substitute for one year of the public contact experience.
Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
