1. Position
- Threading and Tooling Line End Protector Operator
- FLSA Classification(s): Non-Exempt/Hourly
2. Job Summary
- Threading and Tooling Line End Protector Operator initiates setup and operates thread protector applying machine to meet proper specifications.
3. Immediate Supervisor
- This position reports directly to the Shift Supervisor.
4. Performance Standards
- Providing exceptional costumer service to all costumers, suppliers, and employees.
- Constantly representing Axis Pipe and Tube in a positive and professional manner regardless of costumer requests, complaints, or demeanor.
- Complying with policies and procedures.
- Interacting with other employees, suppliers, and costumers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Communicating work progress and significant issues to the immediate supervisor
5. Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently stage and install thread protectors for threading and tooling processing; schedule loads in order to produce maximum load capabilities.
- Must set and adjust variables following established practice, and operate as necessary to comply with established procedures.
- Continuous mental and visual attention in loading, operating, running tests and checks, maintaining records and other duties involving constant alertness.
- Understand and utilize the controls & instruments on the protector placement equipment to process materials properly.
- Perform routine maintenance on all work equipment. Maintains clean work area.
- Operating an overhead crane and forklift as needed to load and unload pipe.
- Must perform duties in a high heat / high humidity environment.
6. Qualifications
- One-year certificate from college or technical school OR
- Three to six months related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Knowledge of use and care of common hand tools.
7. Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
8. Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
