  • JOB SUMMARY
      The Amb/Endo/Minor Unit Clerk assumes clerical duties necessary to assist the health care team as they provide patient care and physician assistance. The Unit Clerk reports directly to the department Director. He/she is responsible for posting surgical cases, entering charges and performing general clerical duties in Amb/Endo/Minor. Duties also include cleaning and high level disinfection of durable medical equipment.
  • EDUCATION
    • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Graduate of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Program
  • LICENSURE
    • Required: None.
  • EXPERIENCE
    • Prior experience working as a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant preferred.
  • CERTIFICATION
    • Nursing Assistant, WV Certification.
    • Required: Heart Code BLS validation within 60 days of employment, with revalidation per AHA guidelines.
  • COMPUTER/TYPING/MATH SKILLS
    • Must be or must become familiar with the hospital computer systems.
  • JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
    • Must possess good oral communication skills.
    • Must be able to communicate with all hospital contacts, both on the telephone and directly.
    • Must have the ability to solve practical problems.
    • Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in verbal, written, diagram or schedule form.
    • Must be able to work and communicate effectively with a variety of different people, taking into consideration different lifestyles and backgrounds.
    • Must have legible handwriting.
    • Self-starter and ability/availability to work in a high stress area and in emergency situations.
