Portland, ME 04102
Principal Responsibilities:
Description
KJFS seeks an energetic, compassionate, and detail-oriented program coordinator for our new Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolee (UHP) Initial Services & Intensive Case Management Program. This program is divided into two components:
- The UHP Initial Services (UIS) operated by KJFS are designed to provide clients with initial case management services and linkages to appropriate community resources and social services to help overcome the barriers clients face on the path to integration and self-sufficiency.
- The UHP Intensive Case Management (UICM) services are designed for clients who are experiencing significant barriers to self-sufficiency and need additional case management support to gain independence.
The UHP IS & CIM Coordinator will work in close partnership with the Refugee Resettlement Program Manager to design the UHP IS & CIM Program at KJFS, develop systems, and implement sustainability practices. The overall goal is to help vulnerable clients become self-sufficient in their new communities and to offer additional assistance to those who need it. The program coordinator is responsible for complete and thorough case noting and documentation of services provided under the grant.
The primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Provide case management and community connectivity services within the scope of the "Preferred Communities" grant.
- Track case deadlines and document all services in detailed case notes, physical files, and client tracking spreadsheets/databases.
- Coordinate services with other organizations and volunteers to address client needs.
- Other duties as assigned by the Refugee Resettlement Program Manager.
This position reports to the Refugee Resettlement Manager, and the job is full time, 40 hours per week, at $25 per hour. The position is exempt. The JCA offers a competitive benefits package that includes partial contribution toward individual health insurance, employer paid short and long-term disability and life insurance, and generous paid time off. Programmatic discounts are also available. The holiday schedule will follow the JCA preschool, and includes several Jewish holidays as well as Federal Holidays when they fall during regularly scheduled work time.
We seek to hire for this position as soon as possible; interested candidates are invited to submit a resume and cover letter to Siobhan Whalen at swhalen@mainejewish.org.

- Ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
- Ability to speak Ukrainian or Russian strongly preferred.
- This position requires the ability to work evening and weekend hours. UHP IS & CIM Coordinator should be available outside of normal work hours for occasional client emergencies.
