Position Overview:

We have positions available on our Med Surg Floors for both Day and Evening shifts as well as per diem openings.

Under the direction of a licensed nurse, participates in the pt/family care and experience through teamwork, effective communication, basic care skills, customer service skills, and clerical skills.

Additional Requirements:

EDUCATION

• HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
• Nursing Assistant Certification is preferred or completion of nurse assistant training or equivalent education/experience

CERTIFICAITONS

• Current Basic Life Support – Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) recognition (American Heart Association or Greater Sacramento Region)

EXPERIENCE

• Experience as a Nurse Assistant in an acute-care facility or recent extended-care experience or currently enrolled in an accredited LVN or RN school program.
• Prior acute-care or sub-acute care experience as a Unit Secretary is desired.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy.
• Must successfully complete the Interpretation of Basic Arrhythmia Test upon hire or within two (2) weeks of completion of the course.
• Demonstrated ability to appropriately handle public contact, confidential information and maintain effective workflow systems; able to prioritize.
• Demonstrated skills in the use of computer equipment and software programs.
• Possess ability to read, speak, and write English legibly, spell correctly, and perform basic mathematics.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
