ABOUT AI4ALL

AI4ALL is a national nonprofit that opens doors to the artificial intelligence industry for historically excluded talent through education and mentorship. We nurture a diverse global community of students and emerging leaders who learn AI fundamentals and who then apply those principles to influence AI in a positive direction. AI4ALL has empowered over 7,500 people in all 50 states and globally with AI education through our High School Pathways, College Pathways, and Changemakers in AI programs. Seventy-nine percent of alumni are interested in a career in AI after completing an initial AI4ALL program, and many are already making significant impacts in the field, from educating their peers to winning “best paper” at top AI conferences. As of fall 2021, AI4ALL programs run in partnership with 23 universities and colleges around North America and reach over 850 high schools around the US.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The University Partner Recruiter will play a key role in College Pathways scaling its network of partnering universities. College Pathways programming will be offered at 16 universities, including multiple Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) and women's colleges in the 2022 - 2023 academic year. This role will take the lead on identifying and confirming new partnerships for the 2023-2024 academic year.

This role is remote with a time commitment of 15-20 hours per week from September 2022 through the end of February 2023. This person will report to the University Partnership Manager.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

Prospecting, Nurturing & Confirming Partners

  • Identify viable 2023-2024 university partners who meet College Pathways university partner selection criteria.
  • Conduct initial outreach to contacts of potential university partners; nurture contacts that have not fully committed to partnering.
  • Get written or verbal confirmation from at least 10 universities that meet the College Pathways universities selection criteria.
  • Work with University Partnership Manager to finalize new university partners.
  • Collaborate with University Partnership Manager and program Director in a consulting role to enhance existing outreach plans and provide suggestions/ideas to improve existing recruitment strategies.

Informational Sessions

  • Conduct informational sessions/meetings to educate prospective partners of the College Pathways programs and responsibilities of AI4ALL and the universities during the partnership. Materials will for these sessions will be provided by the university partnerships manager

Administration

  • Utilize the partnership recruitment process defined by the University Partnerships manager to document and communicate recruitment progress
  • Participate in periodic partnership recruitment progress meetings with University Partnerships Manager and Director
  • Engage in AI4ALL and College Pathways training including learning processes, resources, and strategies to understand College Pathways programs.
  • Leverage Salesforce for daily lead management and to periodically reporting progress with outreach


WHO YOU ARE

Specifically, this hire will bring:

  • Existing network of contacts within higher education Computer Science and/or DEI departments that can be leveraged is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in public speaking, presentation and customer service skills.
  • Superb interpersonal skills; aptitude to work collaboratively with internal as well as external stakeholders.
  • Project management and organizational skills; able to work on multiple projects concurrently, manage time efficiently, and maintain a detail oriented approach to work.
  • Successful working independently with minimum supervision as well as collaboratively.
  • Flexible and adaptable; thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Sales or business development experience is a plus.
  • Undergraduate degree preferred, advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience working with populations who have been historically excluded from the Tech and AI sector is a plus.

AI4ALL is a remote-first organization, allowing staff from all over the country to work both independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment. AI4ALL is a fast-paced work environment with multiple projects and changing priorities.
