OWASA is seeking individuals to join our Water Distribution and Sewer Collection team as a Utility Mechanic I or Utility Mechanic II. Team members in the Utility Mechanic position maintains, repairs, and installs water, sewer, and reclaimed water lines. Team members in this role use a wide variety of equipment/tools, work outside in all weather conditions, respond to after hour emergencies, and frequently use email and computers to process work orders.

Without experience salary range is $36,656 - $56,450

High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid North Carolina Driver’s License. Must be able to get a Class A Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months.

With experience salary range is $42,433 - $65,346

One year of experience in a water and wastewater utility, High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid North Carolina Class A Commercial Driver’s License, certification school attendance or have first level certification (Sewer Collection System Grade 1 or Water Distribution System Grade C certification).
