An Executive program at UNC, a globally recognized graduate program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is seeking a part-time instructional technology technician. This position, located in Charlotte, North Carolina will focus on all Executive MBA formats, primarily the newest offering: the Executive MBA in Charlotte. These innovative cohort-based programs for working professionals are comprised of multiple learning environments: in-person classes, including orientation for new students; course engagement with interactive case studies and collaborative activities; frequent executive sessions and semi-annual immersive impact weekends to develop business and leadership skills. In addition to the foundational core curriculum, the programs also deliver a suite of electives including international and experiential learning opportunities. The IT technician supports faculty, program staff, and students for their entire MBA journey: from orientation, through the program, until graduation.

The position reports to the Director of Curriculum and Innovation and has a dotted line to the Director of Academic Technologies and the Executive MBA Program directors. They will provide instructional and IT support to faculty, staff, and students for a variety of applications and services primarily for the Executive MBA Program in Charlotte. This outward facing role will provide program support to students and faculty. A high level of customer service is expected so additional duties may be assigned to ensure students and faculty have a top-notch experience. The technician will have a deep understanding of computer hardware and software support, the Canvas learning management system, program calendar and class launches, and how the instructional components of the class impact students and faculty both in-person and hybrid formats. Areas of additional support as needed include Microsoft Windows operating systems, Apple operating Systems, Microsoft Office Professional Suites, E-mail clients (MS Outlook via Office 365), Internet browser support, and variety of additional hardware and software support. Emphasis is placed on white-glove support and prompt responsiveness to technical support inquiries, user experiences across multiple systems, proactive support with faculty and third-party software, and the student experience. The IT Support Technician works closely with the instructional design team to align projects, student/faculty communication, and proactive solutions to challenges that emerge. The integration and close collaboration between the Tech Support Technician, the instructional designers, and the instructional specialist enables seamless communication and responsiveness to students and faculty. The position will work closely with IT Academic Technologies group and will be expected to work collaboratively and be in frequent communication with members of the school’s IT Client Services team.
