The ideal Designer for us will have experience designing software from websites to mobile applications as well as being equally eager to define and build out comprehensive style guides and unique branding. This takes uninhibited creativity.

Our Designer will be involved with projects at various phases of the design process. Sometimes this might mean starting from scratch and following your perfect definition of the design process. Other times this might mean that a client is coming to us from a prior implementation - their existing design might be half done and all wrong. For these engagements, you may need to roll up your sleeves and drive design strategy with the remaining budget and timeline to produce the best results possible.

Outside of customer-facing responsibilities, there are plenty of fun internal projects creating company swag: hats, shirts, mugs, and more. We are also in need of designs for sales assets, new pages for our website, social media assets, and more. Our Designer will work directly with our CEO, as well as our remote Marketing and Engineering team, to deliver on all things big and small.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience that’s required (and really important to have):

• Proven experience leading digital design for clients; preferably external-facing
• Proven experience producing cutting-edge web and mobile apps; prototypes; & sales collateral
• Proficient in Adobe Suite (XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Cloud, and Spark)
• Comfortable providing strategic creative direction, both internally and externally
• A keen eye for design and unwavering ability to consider every last detail
• Svelte communicator with a keen ability to unearth true needs and drive projects to completion

Wildly impressive folks will also have experience with:

• React software development
• Agency or consulting environments, including pre-sales
• Entrepreneurial and/or passion projects

Contracting at Inventive

This role is budgeted for a part-time (15+ hours) ongoing contract.

• Consistency: Ongoing projects + strong backlog = no bench time!
• Zero Travel: Forget your commute! No planes, trains, or automobiles are required here.

Part-time contractors: We are not considering any full-time employees seeking supplemental work as a part-time contractor. This arrangement can cause issues since we regularly schedule meetings during core office hours.
