Summary of Role You are Applying For:

This is a hands-on position that reports to the Lean and Safety Supervisor. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you must have a general understanding of Lean and Continuous Improvement principles, and you will be responsible for evaluating work processes to determine strategies and programs to increase productivity and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include gathering information relevant to work processes, making program suggestions, instructing others on continuous improvement, and facilitating employee teams to improve overall results.


This position is in Batesville, IN and is NOT a remote position. You must report daily to our manufacturing facility. Anyone not living in the greater Batesville, IN area should NOT apply for this role.


How You Will Spend Your Time:

Responsibilities:

  • Continuously learn and apply applicable Lean tools to drive a culture of change.
  • Communication of the lean transformation and initiatives to employees.
  • Responsible to help establish, coach, and maintain effective daily performance management.
  • Train and coach hourly operators and other employees on lean tools and processes.
  • Support improvements: plan, support, participate, and facilitate
  • Assist with problem solving.
  • Assist Team Leader to ensure improvements are made and sustained.
  • Other duties as identified by the Value Stream Coach and Change Agents to further the sites Lean Manufacturing initiative.

EDUCATION:

  • 4-year degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology or Manufacturing related is required.


EXPERIENCE
:

  • No experience is necessary for this role. Recently graduated candidates encouraged to apply.



SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodology (Kaizen, 5s, A3)
  • Good math skills a must
  • Is passionate about lean systems and root cause analysis
  • Can move around all day
  • Communication Skills: Able to communicate effectively with all levels; from hourly to senior staff
  • Willingness to learn and solve problems with an open mind
  • Basic Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Able to use basic hand tools and read a tape measure
  • Team oriented, but also able to work independently
  • Productive and organized
  • Good reading and verbal comprehension skills
