Job Summary:
The Vehicle Maintenance Manager will direct and coordinate the acquisition and maintenance of Killington's Rolling and Track fleet. This includes cars, trucks, snow grooming vehicles, construction equipment, four-wheelers, and snowmobiles.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Plan, coordinate and oversee vehicle maintenance/repair operations, including operating schedules, policies, and procedures
- Plan and coordinate vehicle acquisition/replacement
- Exercise full supervisory authority, directly and indirectly, over foreman and fourteen other employees
- Plan and conduct training programs and staff meetings
- Confer regularly with staff to plan and coordinate activities, assign, and check work, resolve problems, etc.
- Plan work schedules
- Plan, request and manage the vehicle department operating budget
- Establish maintenance priorities and plan maintenance schedules
- Oversee the procurement and maintenance of an appropriate inventory of parts and equipment
- Assist with receiving, inventory ordering and control, fuel inventory, and courier service
- Locate and order special parts
- Establish vehicle replacement priorities
- Research and advise company leadership on sources, prices and technical specifications for new and replacement vehicles
- Coordinate vehicle procurement
- Prepare a variety of administrative/operations reports and records
- Ensure adherence to all applicable codes and standards
- Ensure that proper safety procedures are followed
- Confer regularly with immediate supervisor and other company personnel/departments to plan, coordinate, and evaluate activities/systems, exchange information, resolve problems, and the like
- Deal regularly with a variety of outside supply and equipment vendors, service contractors, vehicle sales and service personnel, etc.
- Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient manner
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
5 to 8 years of relevant technical and supervisory experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Broad base of technical knowledge and skills related to vehicle maintenance, including parts procurement; experience with construction and snow grooming equipment desirable
- Experience in vehicle procurement desirable
- Experience in electronic troubleshooting
- Good planning, administrative and supervisory skills
- Good math/budget skills; business training desirable
- Ability to deal effectively with a variety of company personnel and outside firms
- Valid drivers license
