Description
Cheyenne Mountain Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Team!
Our team works closely together to provide excellent care to our patients, focusing not only on the bond between the patient and client but also on being advocates for them and the families who love them. We are a 3-Doctor practice in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado that offers general medicine, surgery, dentistry, digital radiology, and in-house laboratory.
The best candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of veterinary experience, a CVT is preferred. They will have strong communication skills, be enthusiastic, reliable, detail-oriented, interested in learning and working as part of a Team. Our Technicians are responsible for carrying out the Veterinarian's instructions, assisting in exam rooms and surgery, managing their time, communicating with the Team and with our clients, care of patients: cleaning and maintaining hospital and client areas, collecting and preparing laboratory samples, venipuncture, radiology, use of computers and preparing prescriptions.
As a member of our Team, you will receive training, continuing education, and an opportunity to rotate through the various Technician assignment areas.
Schedule:
We have a 4-day work schedule.
The schedule will include at least one weekend day, a holiday rotation, and 1-2 evenings.
The schedule may include some 12-hour shifts and will be 35 - 40 hours per week.

Pay:
$15-$17/hr non licensed Vet Techs
$17-$20/hr licensed Vet Techs
Requirements:A minimum of two years of Veterinary experience
Proficient in the following nursing skills
- Venipuncture
- I.V. catheter placement
- Radiology positioning
- Animal handling/restraint
Qualifications (non-nursing):
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and think quickly
- Extraordinary attention to detail and thorough follow-through
- Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere
- Strong computer skills
- Team player, flexible and ability to remain poised in stressful situations
Preferred:
Graduation from an AVMA accredited program
Passing the Veterinary Technician National Examination
Knowledge of Idexx Laboratories in-house lab equipment
Physical Requirements:
