The veterinary assistant is the entire team's primary support. Every department relies on their significant role in aiding with a variety of services to provide excellent client and patient care.

In this Blood Bank Technician Assistant position, you will work as a part of the Blood Bank team to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care and client communication.

The Blood Bank Technician Assistant is responsible for recruitment of blood donors, both internally and within the local community, facilitating an efficient donation process, performing annual wellness exams for all donors, and maintaining the blood bank inventory.

The person in this position is a direct conduit between the client and the veterinary team. The Blood Bank Technician serves as a central resource for all hospital blood products.

Partners with overseeing blood bank DVM to schedule health clinics for staff members including annual physical exams, obtaining, and submitting bloodwork as well as infectious screens that are supported by the blood bank director.

• Assists in maintaining recruitment of CASE employee pet blood donors.

• Assists in maintaining schedule for donation appointments

• Assists with oversight and processing of in hospital blood products

• Assists with maintaining blood product are inventory including troubleshooting backorders with the supply chain team

• Maintains communication regarding blood bank inventory and ordering with both the overseeing blood bank doctor and direct line manager

• Assists in maintaining in hospital inventory.

• When applicable, the Blood Bank Technician Assistant will participate in marketing events, CE, protocol review and strategy meetings.

• If Blood Bank duties are completed or can be reprioritized the Blood Bank Technician will assist in ER/Patient Care/ICU or another service upon the request of the direct line manager.

Salary: $18-$21/ hour
