The Vetting Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to the Vetting Manager and working closely with the Operations and Safety department in conducting and reporting on incident investigations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist with responding to oil major requests for documents, incident investigations, and inspections.
  • Assist in implementing corrective actions and monitor effectiveness
  • Prepare incident reports for internal and external use.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement of the in-house investigative process by seeking out training opportunities; implement best practices company-wide
  • Prepare lessons learned for distribution; recommend opportunities for improvement based on investigation findings.
  • Assist vessel Pilots with audit preparation and recommend potential improvements.
  • Assist the Vetting Manager with customer audits and reports
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor KPI trends and leading indicators.
  • Assist the Vetting Manager, Manager of Compliance, and other departments as necessary in the TMSA audit process.
  • Assist in building long-term, value-driven relationships with customers
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Educational and Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED certificate, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years in the marine industry or equivalent maritime educational background
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with both internal and external customers
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
  • Maintain a valid TWIC

Preferred Educational and Job Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in training employees on safety and operational programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Prior marine incident investigation experience
  • Technical report writing experience

Physical Capabilities:

  • Must meet USCG physical examination requirements.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
