Key Performance:
- Advocate for victims of crime, domestic violence, and sexual assault.
- Provide communities with domestic violence prevention and awareness activities.
- Report to and coordinate with UNHS Behavioral Health department regarding victim services.
- Provide assistance to victims of crime in completing the New Mexico Crime Victims Reparations Compensation application.
- Provide documentation in working with clients, using a software program.
- Assist clients in completing victim statements.
- Support clients during interviews.
- Assist victims in accessing protection orders.
- Support victims preparing for court testimony.
- Interface with multiple law enforcement agencies (e.g., Navajo Nation Police, state police, FBI).
- Attend and complete all training assignments.
- Interact with medical providers in the referral process.
- Support and engage with victims and their families requesting assistance.
- Interact with UNHS behavioral health staff regarding client needs.
- Advocate for clients regarding their medical, legal, housing, financial, rehabilitation, and counseling needs.
- Assist victims in accessing traditional/spiritual Navajo healing practices.
- Coordinate and collaborate with local law enforcement, FBI, Navajo Nation Division of Social Services, and Navajo Nation Courts.
- Become familiar with state and tribal domestic violence and sexual assault laws.
- Become trauma-informed.
- Become familiar in documenting client and agency encounters and maintain documentation for program report purposes.
Preference:
One year working in victim services, and/or behavioral health, and/or human services.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
As a Tribal Organization the Utah Navajo Health System, Inc. (UNHS) treats patients with high risk and underlying chronic medical conditions. Therefore, UNHS requires its employees to show proof of immunization prior to their employment with UNHS or during their employment. Below is a list of immunizations/vaccinations required to be employed or to continue employment with UNHS.
The immunizations/vaccinations include but not limited to following:
- MMR (Measles Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella): Documentation of two MMR vaccines (OR) Documentation of MMR titers.
- Complete Hepatitis B vaccine series (3 doses), documented proof of titers indicating immunity, or a declination that may be signed upon arrival.
- Proof of up-to-date PPD skin testing, if previously negative (OR) Proof of positive PPD skin test with the most recent chest x-ray and treatment history.
- Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap).
- Varicella titers, history of varicella or varicella immunization series.
- Influenza vaccine for the current year.
- COVID-19 vaccine
- Any other vaccinations as requested.
