Job Description:
The Video Production Manager role will be responsible for seeing video projects through from development to post-production and delivery in Microchip’s Marketing Communications Department. This individual will report to, and work with, the Creative Manager on day-to-day operations of the video department to ensure corporate marketing initiatives, brand consistency and content goals are achieved.
Critical Duties:
The individual will be responsible for managing the broadcasting and livestream of events, produced videos and photography.
Key Responsibilities:
Be on the forefront of innovative production practices (methodology, gear and tech) and integrating them into everyday use within the department.
Manage a team of content creators and ensure the final delivery of content.
  • Support our in-house video team by helping to develop ideas and maintain consistent quality
  • Driving projects forward and staying on schedule
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our internal teams and third-party vendors
  • Serve as a key point of contact for contract execution, purchase orders, supplier onboarding, and procurement for select teams while maintaining adequate records
  • Field questions from developers and vendors on invoicing and payment issues
  • Lead media (video, livestream/events and photography) production team creation of best-in-class live event broadcasts (livestreams), webinars, brand videos, customer stories, internal and external company announcements, social videos, product marketing videos, and recruiting videos, that align with corporate branding and messaging
  • Engage and collaborate with global cross-functional teams as needed to support content creation, activation and measurement requirements
  • Help develop new corporate and BU video programs, while also improving current offerings
  • Manage the publishing of video content to streaming platforms
  • Continually identify, improve and maintain video best practices, processes, and workflows while maintaining documentation to reflect up to date information
  • Oversee video archives and ensure the video team is following archiving procedures, including accurate file store locations, timely uploading and appropriate file naming conventions
  • Maintain YouTube channel content, ensuring the channel is clear, uncluttered, relevant and that videos uploaded have appropriate descriptions
  • Help set a vision for future growth, which can include personal, equipment and facilities.
  • Managing/leading team: Oversee the master schedule for the team and all individual project schedules. Work with producers to create production schedules for all projects and adjust schedules as needed according to changing circumstances. Track milestones and ensure all delivery dates are met. Provide support to the team regarding development and enforce creative direction from Creative Manager. (40%)
  • Budgeting: Work with producers, create and manage project budgets. Track costs to ensure that projects remain within approved budgets. Provide monthly departmental budget reporting to direct management and assist in quarterly forecasting and the annual budgeting process. Maintain records of projects expenses. (25%)
  • Manage Vendors: The main point of contact for all vendor contracts and invoices. The position negotiates agreements, processes and tracks all project-related invoices, and completes all relevant financial forms to engage and pay vendors. The Production Manager also leads in-office contractor onboarding. (25%)
  • Operations: Lead the creation and continued improvement of workflows and processes. (10%)
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in video production and/or equivalent 7+ years of experience in film production or related fields
  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of video production equipment and production software
  • Experience with live streaming and location shooting
  • Excellent organization, project management, planning and communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work with varying and changing needs
  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and meet deadlines, while working with all levels of employees
  • Ability to present ideas to larger, diverse, and multi-dimensional teams in a clear, confident manner
  • Willingness to work with teams over multiple time zones and regions
  • Demonstrate leadership ability and relationship building skills
  • Strong blend of multi-tasking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Hard-working team player, with a positive attitude and willing to collaborate and lead a team
