Join us this summer as one of our Visual Arts Studio Assistants for the 2023 Interlochen Arts Camp season. In this position you will assist instructors in a variety of visual arts classes, manage studios, help students, and assist with various other aspects of the program. This is a paid position. In addition, housing and all meals are included with this position. The dates of employment are 6/23/23-8/7/2023, with some Assistants needed as early as June 15, 2023.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Studio preparation
  • Inventory of supplies
  • Assist with studio instruction and studio clean up
  • Monitor open studios and help hang student exhibitions
  • May also teach a workshop to high school or intermediate students in the Visual Arts Studio Seminar
  • Assist with the department's public and community programs as appropriate including open studios, extracurricular activities, demonstrations during change over weekends and our mid-summer event "Collage"
  • Hang student exhibitions and decide on the most creative and efficient ways to display artwork

Experience and Skills:Qualifications:

  • A strong background in studio art is required
  • A specialized degree in art is preferred
