Position Overview

The Vocational Evaluator is responsible for completing thorough vocational evaluations which includes but is not limited to written testing and situational assessments. The Vocational Evaluator will employ a person-centered and holistic approach that will incorporate a variety of tools and practices to ensure a comprehensive evaluation experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Evaluate consumers and develop situational assessment plans based on individual’s needs
  • Complete vocational evaluation plans and reports based on observation, feedback from the team, and results of written and formal testing
  • Schedule and lead evaluation meetings with ACCES-VR, families and other stakeholders involved in the individuals care
  • Maintain attendance records
  • Work as part of interdisciplinary team
  • Continuously evaluate and update plan and assessment throughout evaluation period
  • Assist other team members in other areas of TRI based on needs of the program
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Conduct outreach to ACCESS

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Always communicate in a respectful manner with all people including the people we support, supervisors, other valued team members, and members of the community
  • Coordinate, support, attend and participate in all required events/ meetings/ reviews/ committees, including ones outside of standard working hours
  • Complete all required trainings and stay in compliance
  • Maintain the confidentiality of any information relating to individuals and employees of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Work Experience, and Competencies

  • Master's Degree required, Master of Social Work preferred
  • Experience working in a setting that provides employment/vocational supports preferred
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and satisfy criteria to be a driver for TRI
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs is essential
  • Must be efficient, well organized, and have excellent communication skills Physical Demands
  • Employee is required to sit, walk and stand for prolonged period of time (at least 8 hours)
  • Employee is required to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Employee is required to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
