Job Description:
Principle Responsibilities
- Volunteer program management.
- Develops, coordinates and oversees program, including training, processes, polices and ensuring compliance.
- Sources and recruits volunteers to meet departmental goals and objectives.
- Oversees and manages the volunteer application process including background screening, immunization screening and file management.
- Conducts orientation to ensure understanding of work and competency.
- Coordinates educational opportunities and required education as needed.
- Manages and maintains volunteer data including documentation of volunteer hours.
- Recognizes volunteers' work internally and externally and length of service.
- Integrates volunteer program.
- Works with management and/or interdisciplinary teams to identify volunteer opportunities and patient and family needs.
- Maximizes the skills and abilities of volunteers through position matching.
- Increases community visibility by planning and implementing outreach activities.
- May oversee the activities of an auxiliary group.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description, and High school diploma or GED preferred
- Associate's or Vocational degree preferred or
- Some post secondary education preferred
- 2 to 5 Years prior Human Resources and/or healthcare experience preferred and
- Excellent verbal communication skills, able to problem solve, prioritize and manage time effectively preferred
- Valid Driver's License if working in Hospice required
