Job Summary
Overall responsibility for program management functions at the SBU and/or Company level. Oversee the program process discipline and ensures directives are followed. Lead monthly program reviews and actively partner with functional areas (ie engineering, manufacturing, advanced programs and business development). Serve as Senior Program Manager advisor to VP/GM.Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the program process, discipline and directives for the SBU and/or Company level
  • Lead monthly program reviews by SBU, Company or LOB
  • Actively partner with functional areas (i.e., engineering, manufacturing, advanced programs and business development)
  • Serve as Sr. PM advisor to VP/GM
  • Responsible for program management professional development strategy
  • Responsible for establishing methodologies for managing inventory
  • Ensure proper methods are being followed to track programs cost, schedules and performance across LOB and/or Company
  • Review internal practices for compliance
  • Advise Segment, SBU and/or company level senior management on program concerns and issues
  • Audit program reviews across SBU and/or Company; monitor yellow and red programsJob Responsibilities Part II
  • Develop and implement recovery plans for yellow and red programs (e.g., schedule, technical performance)
  • Develop turn around strategies in order to meet short- and long-term customer schedules
  • Mentor, coach and develop program managers across SBU and/or Company
  • Attend business segment reviews (QBR) and/or SBU reviews
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships
  • May have direct or indirect responsibility for the program managers in the SBU and/or Company
  • Provide input into the business forecast
  • Lead negotiations and discussions with potential and existing customers and partners
  • Understand and develop methodologies that allow Program Managers to apply leading verses lagging indicators
  • Develop processes for identifying, assessing, monitoring and mitigating risk throughout the program life cycle within LOB/CO/SBU segment.
  • Support, communication, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationQualifications
  • Engineering or business degree required. Master’s degree highly preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience
  • Certification in Program Management highly preferred (i.e., PMP or DAU level 3)
  • Expert knowledge of program management tools and procedures
  • Expert leadership and management skills, particularly “influence management” and “conflict resolution”
  • Significant experience throughout the program lifecycle from development through sustainment to include: proposal development, requirements decomposition, generation of system and subsystem statements of work and subcontracts, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts including implementation for cost reduction and performance improvement efforts
  • Experience with earned value cost accounting and reporting; experience with metrics for assessing and reporting program progress, productivity and variance analysis
  • Experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing and supply chain management in order to manage those functions within a program
  • Excellent customer interface skills; problem solving skills; and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated success in managing manpower planning, project reviews, scheduling and budget control
  • Must have a successful track record in managing complex aerospace/defense programs such as a prime or sub contractor to a domestic or foreign military organization
  • Must have excellent leadership and oral and written communication skills
  • Must have a portfolio of programs in which financial objectives (profit, cash flow, revenue, bookings) were achieved
