The Vice President of Talent Selection will lead the strategic direction of the organization’s talent selection systems and processes to deliver innovative, cost effective capabilities to effectively meet the strategic workforce goals and objectives for our Team Member population. Ensures the network recruitment strategy is in alignment with the overarching network strategy and driving out talent acquisition efforts to meet those strategic imperatives. Leads and directs strategic planning, program design and implementation of a wide range of programs for employee sourcing, recruiting, hiring and retention throughout the organization; and ensures that these efforts are aligned to business needs and are optimized to deliver streamlined and efficient processes in support of our workforce planning/forecasting strategies. Partners with HR leadership to execute on key human capital initiatives to promote and build our employer brand externally and internally; be accountable for policy and process compliance and effectively meet the strategic workforce goals and objectives for multiple lines of business and multiple sites for our employee population.
They will lead the function with a focus on continuing to make HMH a compelling destination for talent, bringing the right talent into the organization in an efficient and effective manner, while ensuring our approach aligns to HMH business strategy, mission, vision and values.
Responsibilities:
A day in the life of a Vice President, Talent Selection at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Customer focused and responsive to the needs of each constituent.
  • Partner’s cross-functionally to analyze business needs and deliver integrated solutions geared towards driving efficiencies and lowering costs.
  • Stays contemporary with knowledge of talent selection tools and systems and proposes optimal solutions to meet organizational needs.
  • Networks with external peers to stay current around innovative solutions and utilization pertaining to talent selection.
  • Ensures advance controls are in place for data integrity, compliance with federal, state and corporate regulations.
  • Develops and delivers enterprise-wide recruitment solutions that position HMH as employer of choice providing clear leadership to the talent acquisition team. Understand business trends and needs and acting as a trusted advisor and thought leader on operational and strategic recruitment issues. Defines and oversees candidate sourcing strategies including referral programs, social and professional networking, advertising, university relations programs, external recruiters, etc...
  • Directs the operational effectiveness of the recruiting processes/teams to support internal and external customer needs.
  • Supports team development through learning opportunities and programs, provides problem resolution and open communication at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor and Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or other related field.
  • A minimum of 10 yrs of HR experience within talent solutions and emphasis on talent acquisition.
  • 7 yrs experience in a leadership role at the management level in talent acquisition
Knowledge/Skills
  • Strong knowledge of all key aspects of HR including recruitment /talent, workforce planning, benefits, compensation, employment law, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in People Management Practices
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to think with creativity and innovation and to bring new solutions and ideas to the table
  • Demonstrated skills in strategic consulting, human capital planning and problem resolution
  • Strong relationship management skills to include coaching, team building and ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization; ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate
  • Excellent business acumen including knowledge of industry and functional trends; general operational processes; financial management and business planning
