The Warehouse Manager Position

Position Summary/Objective: The Warehouse Manager is a position that is responsible for overseeing and managing facility operations in their assigned facility/location. This includes, generally, the physical warehouse, all staff (full-time, part-time, and seasonal), storage of product, quality control, shipping, and staffing while adhering to a budget.

Salary/Benefits for the Warehouse Manager:
This is a salaried exempt position. The salary will range from 60K to 75K

Medical, Dental, Vision eligibility is the 1st day of the month following start of employment

Eligibility for Ancillary benefits, including paid vacations, paid holidays and 401K is at 90 days.

Paid sick time is offered on the first day of FT employment and allocated based on the Quarter start date.

Experience Requirements for the Warehouse Manager


Working knowledge of lighting production for the live events industry.


Working knowledge of stage and live event production, including industry terminology.


Working knowledge of show site setup, production and strike.


Prior experience in supervising at least 5 to 10 employees.


Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work within deadlines with attention to detail.


Solid management and business operations skills, including basic knowledge of staff scheduling, budgets and time management..


Proficiency in basic computer and office software--G Suite products.


Prior warehouse supervisory experience is preferred.


Ability to quickly identify and solve problems.

Essential Facility Responsibilities for the Warehouse Manager: While not all-inclusive, the following is a list of primary and general duties. In addition the person in this position shall also perform other tasks as assigned, shall abide by all provisions of the Employee Handbook, and shall participate in company initiatives and projects.


Supervise day-to-day operations of the warehouse and assigned areas.


Maintain safety/compliance and cooperation with all federal, state and local regulations and officials.


Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and guidelines.


Maintain appropriate quantities of supplies and equipment for shows and the shop.


Participate in long- and short-term planning and budgeting for the facility.


Communicate regularly and openly with all company staff, employees, show technicians, clients and officials in a timely manner.


Serve as one of the local contacts for the assigned area, and report local issues to Operations Manager.


Plan, communicate, and execute product and equipment requirements to fulfil orders while managing staff appropriately.


Using an internal inventory system, manage warehouse operations to budget and per approval process.

Essential Supervisory Responsibilities of the Warehouse Manager


Train and supervise hourly warehouse employees.


Schedule staff as needed for show preparation, show execution and proper facility and equipment maintenance.


Support show execution via sub-rentals, equipment repair, procurement.


Manage and maintain the security, safety and integrity of the facility, supplies and equipment--including the proper equipment/safety training of all staff.


Support management in the Implementation of needed policies and procedures and assist with performance management of the warehouse staff.


Purchasing shop supplies from local stores for the day to day use.

Physical Demands of the Warehouse Manager


Ability to move up to 100 lbs occasionally, and up to 50 lbs frequently.


Ability to work for long hours in indoor/outdoor environments/warehouse in both cold and hot temperatures.


Ability to walk, bend, stoop, squat, and move about the office and warehouse, 75% of the time.


Ability to complete paperwork timely and follow up on administrative duties that require the use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work of the Warehouse Manager

Depending on the business need and volume of work/shows, hours of work could be a typical work day schedule (8am to 5pm), or working long days and weekends during peak volume. This position includes working in a warehouse environment and using office equipment and warehouse equipment regularly.

Travel

This position requires some travel, up to 25%. Travel will be mixed local and outside the local area and overnight. Rarely would travel be international, but being legally able to cross the Canadian border is important.
