Solvay is a leading manufacturer of specialty additive chemicals all over the world. We are currently seeking to hire a Warehouse Operator for our site in Lock Haven, PA. This candidate will manage materials in the warehouse and various bulk storage locations. They will be responsible for following the incoming raw material receipt process to maintain accurate records of merchandise received and ensure quality assurance. The warehouse operator will be responsible for maintaining inventory to ensure accuracy as well as storage locations as per SAP.

Some key accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Bulk loading of tanker trucks.
  • Loading and unloading of package goods in and out of the warehouse.
  • Responsible for reviewing and executing all shipping/receiving requirements and paperwork.
  • Timely convey information to supervisor, co-workers, and other departments within the plant.
  • Material handling for all raw materials into the production area and removal of empty containers from the area.
  • Drumming and to toting of finished goods.
  • Creating and labeling of finished goods.
  • Off-loading of bulk dry materials.
  • Housekeeping – Before the end of the shift the sweep all warehouse floor, empty all garbage cans and police the loading dock, bulk loading station and the rail unloading area for trash.
  • Raw material storage- all package goods must be kept in there designated storage area as soon as they are received.
  • Assist in inventory control by accurately recording inventory and perform physical counts when necessary.
  • Unloading of bulk railcars including all paperwork associated with the process.
  • Report all accidents, upset conditions and near misses to the Shift Lead Operator before their shift is over.
  • Provide safety recommendations on a regular bases to the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager.
  • Turnover in writing the state warehouse to the following warehouse operator.

Desired Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a warehouse setting a plus.
  • Knowledge of DOT, IATA, IMDG shipping requirements a plus.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, and/or chemical plant environment is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to drive a forklift preferred.

  • Must read and understand written procedures (SOP's) and/or verbal instruction.
  • Must be able to write clearly and concisely.

Salary: From $19.00 per hour
